Travelling by train and bus was a great start and finish to our holiday.

We were fortunate with the good weather for our Saturday morning exploring Tiverton, and it remained lovely for our picnic lunch on the Grand Western Canal basin. The highlight for most was the wonderful trip on the horse drawn barge. It was good that we were joined by Allie, Ray, Julie, Richard, Barry and Ann.

We were relieved that the restaurant “Blue Velvet Bistro” was able to accommodate all 21 of us at very short notice on Saturday evening, and we all enjoyed the meal.

Our wet, yet beautiful riverside walk on Sunday morning led by John, took us to a fantastic riverside pub “Fisherman’s Cott” where lunch was wonderful. The weather had improved for the walk back.

The “Bridge Guest House” worked well for us with its friendly service and excellent breakfasts, many thanks to Ling and Richard. Great too that we were able to use their dining room to get together on our last evening sharing our drinks and nibbles. Glad that Robin and Elizabeth joined in with the fun on Sunday evening.

This was our 8th year of these events!!
